Modhub: The modhub is Giants effort to satisfy Microsoft and Sony when it comes to control the deliverables into their platforms.Modders can optimize more or less and thus make an effort to try to reduce the slot count, but it's not easy.
You can not have a map or a vehicle taking up zero slots. So it is not something that is "made up".
For you that are in the growing community I recommend to accept this (see below) and start planning for a transition to PC. I understand that going from Console to PC is an expensive transition, but for those of you who recognize themselves in the growing community (as defined above), please understand there is only so much that can be done on Consoles. These players are very aware of what they want, and can articulate these wishes. More mods, not just vehicles or maps but features and game changers such as Courseplay, GPS, Followme, PlaceAnywhere, and more. The growing community: We also have the Console players that want more, that see what the PC community can do and are up to.I think these are far less than the group above. Some also edit and modify the mods to fit their own needs, less HP, more HP, faster, slower, more capacity, less capacity. The minority: Then in the PC/Mac area there are players that extend a bit further and download mods from all kind of mod sites, including Facebook releases.I think this is for sure the bulk of players. The majority: In both PC/Mac and Console there are players that just play the game as is, and download mods from Modhub and are really happy with that.Lets call and define the groups as below (as example): The combined amount of us is what makes Giants have a good enough business and to be able to develop the game further, including DLC's and Platinums and what have you.īut in both PC/Mac and Console there are different type of players (consumers). Me and many others, and certainly Giants, highly appreciate all players on all platforms.
